A stiff test awaits you on the very first hole. 444 yards form the competition tee this Par 4 really sets out the challenge to come. At the Par 3 third hole accuracy into a narrow green which is well bunkered is premium but a good birdie opportunity then awaits at the short par 4 fourth.

Consolidation through the next few holes will offer birdie opportunities to the brave on the par 5’s at five and eight.

As the front nine comes to an end many will feel that the ninth offers the easiest opportunity to reduce you score. However beware- although only 246 yards long, this short par 4’s green is very difficult to read and place the ball close to the hole. Water is a challenge on the course too, especially at the par five tenth where three good shots are required to reach the green.

Rhododendrons await erratic shots over the next few holes and accurate tee shots are required at the 12th, 14th and 15th to offer up short approach shots. Standing on the tee at the up hill 17th a pair of pars to finish would be snapped up by most.

The par 5 18th gives the welcoming view of the clubhouse in the distance where you can recall all the good shots that have made you day at the Drift Golf Club. There are further superlatives to describe the other holes, but the better bet would be to play them yourself.
